Fornebukta Beach – Fornebu

Fornebukta is located on the north side of Fornebu. At Smedtangen right outside the swimming area you will find barbeque area and opportunity for fishing. You also have the opportunities to buy lunch or a refreshing drink at the Radison Blu hotel located just behind the swimming area.

Getting there: Drive to Fornebu, follow the signs Hotel Radison Blu.

Parking: Upon Telenor Arena.

 

Rolfstangen Beach – Fornebu

Rolfstangen is located on the southeast side of Fornebu.

Rolfstangen has two sandy beaches separated by a rocky outcrop with rough mountains. Outside the north shore, there are some rocks and seaweed.

Paved road down from the parking area provides good access for wheelchair

Walking distance to Sjøflyhavna tavern little further north where you can get refreshments.

Getting there: Drive to Fornebu, follow signs to Snarøya, then signs to Rolfstangen. Drive past the beach sign, to get to the parking lot.

Pelvikodden Beach – Fornebu

Pelvikodden is located southeast of Fornebu,   south of Rolfstangen. Here is a nice sandy beach with some shells and rough rocks typical of the Oslo area.

Its location allows Pelvikodden access to fresh seawater from the fjord. Pelvikodden is a popular fishing spot as well.

Getting there: Drive to Fornebu, follow signs to Snarøya. Turn left into Haldenveien.

Parking: Free parking.

 

Halden Brygge – Fornebu

Halden pier is located just south of Pelvikodden swimming area.

Fürst Brygge – Fornebu

Nice bathing place on the southeastern of Snarøya. Nice sandy beach.  Popular fishing spot.

Getting there: Take the bike or bus to Snarøya.

Parking: no.

 

Storøyodden Beach – Fornebu

Storøyodden swimming area is located at the tip of the promontory on Storøy.

Storøyodden has a great sandy beach.  Nice coastal path in the area if you are tired of lying on the beach.

Handicap friendly ramp and outside shower.

Service facilities with toilets and a kiosk. The kiosk does not except cards.

Blue Flag 2009 and 2010.

Getting there: by bus or bike. Bus stop at Fornebu West.

Parking: 6 Handicap parking lots right on the beach. Parking by Storøya village center, Fornebu Arena or on Oksenøya.

 

Sarbuvollen Beach – Høvik

Sarbuvollen swimming area has a nice little sandy beach. At the entrance to Holtkilen.

Access: Coastal path or bike to the end of Sarbuvollveien

 

Båtstøjordet Beach – Høvik

Båtstøjordet is a small swimming area located at Holtekilen. Nice playground and soccer field.

Parking: Small car park 50 meters from the beach.

 

Sjøskogen Beach – Høvik

Sjøskogen swimming area is located north of Veritas Park. The coastal path on this stretch is impassable with a stroller.

Hovik swimming area – Veritas Park

Hovik swimming area is located along the coastal path from Veritas to Høvikodden. It is a mixture of natural rock and sandy beach.

There are several benches along the beach as part of the Veritas Park.

Getting there: Follow the coastal path from Høvikodden or Veritas.

 

Høvikodden sandy beach

The beach at Høvikodden is quite small and is located 50 meters south of Henie Onstad Art Centre. Private property on the east side.

The sculpture park outside the art center and worth a visit if you're tired of lying on the beach.

Lunch and refreshments you can buy at Bølgen and Moi, the restaurant at the art center.

Getting there: Follow signs to Blommenholm and Hennie Onstad Art Centre. Bus to Høvikodden from Oslo city center.

Parking: The parking lot at the art center.

 

Kadettangen Beach – Sandvika

Kadettangen is a very popular beach in Sandvika, Bærum Municipality. 

Swimming raft with diving board.

Rigmor MS and MS Rigfar have docked on the south side of Kadettangen. Nice option if you want to get out on one of the islands in Vestfjorden.

Getting there: Drive to Sandvika, down to the sea front of the town hall.

Parking: Large free parking at the beach or pay parking under the E18 Bridge.

 

Kalvøya Naturist beach – Sandvika

Kalvøya naturist beach is for nudists.

Access: Park at Kadettangen, Sandvika. Go over the bridge to Kalvøya, follow the gravel road north. The beach is located about Mid-calf Island’s northern coastline.

Store badebukt swimming area – Sandvika

Store badebukt is the largest and best sandy beach on Kalvøya. It is located south of Kalvøya. Sun all day. There is a large grass area above the beach which is suitable for ball games.

Swimming raft with diving boards (1.2meter).

There are great hiking trails around the Kalvøya.

Getting there: Drive to Sandvika, parking lots at Kadettagen or under the freeway bridge. Go over the bridge to Kalvøya and follow the trail along the south side.

Lille badebukt swimming area – Sandvika

Nice sandy beach.

Getting there: Drive to Sandvika, go over the bridge to Kalvøya, follow the trail along the south end of Kalvøya.

Fritzner beach in Vollen

Fritznerstranda is a great bathing area with a sandy beach, rocky cliffs, jetty and swimming raft. Located right next to the Oslofjord Museum, where you can buy ice cream, and the pier where the fast ferry arrives to Vollen. Large green areas adjacent to the beach where you can play bocce, Frisbee golf and borrow a paddle boat and canoe from Selvikvillaen during opening hours. Consists of fine sandy beach, toilets, re-use library, a pier and a grassy area.

Selvikvilla

We have an open kiosk and garden every weekend from May to September and every day during the school summer holidays. Come and play on our charming 19th-century bowling alley. Hammocks for relaxation, garden and beach toys, and equipment loan/hire for water activities.

The kiosk sell delicious waffles, ice cream, toast and pizza.

Selvikvillaen is run by Vollen Nærmiljøsentral. Welcome to a fun and relaxing day at our place.

Places for swimming in Frogn municipality

Skiphellebukta south of Drøbak centre has sandy beach and smooth rock. Kiosk, fresh water shower, info. board, excellent for families with children. parking, two km to the bus connection.

Torkildstranda south of Drøbak centre has sandy beach, ramp for windsurfers, large parking area, bus connection.

Elleskjær sout of Torkildstranda has smooth rock, kiosk, parking, two km to bus connection.

Badeparken and Parrstranda in Drøbak centre. Sandy beach and grassy areas, kiosk, swimmingramp for disabled, sandy beach for children, fishing. Car park, bus connection.

Norstranda in Drøbak hassandy beach for children, fishing area on the jetty, parking, bus.

Håøya island outside of Drøbak. Small coves with sand and pebbles. Diving, sites for tents, fishing, rambling.

Oscasborg Fortress. Northern tip of of Nordre Kaholmen: Bathing from beach and rocks, beach hut. A little further south: Bathing from sandy beach and rocks near the visitor quay. Access: Ferry to Oscarsborg or moor you own boat in the marina.

Sjøstrand beach – Blue Flag

Sjøstrand is a great swimming spot with sandy beach and large green plain. Two sandy beaches, pier and a grassy plain. Sjøstrand has a sand volleyball court, kiosk, bathing raft, shower, handicap ramp, diving board, trash cans, toilet and jetty.

Access:

Drive Slemmestadveien towards Slemmestad, exit to Sjøstrandveien. Possible to walk from Vollen, Bjerkås and Slemmestad, great walk along the coastal path. Access by scheduled boat B20 from Aker Brygge to Vollen and Slemmestad.

Places to swim in Lørenskog

Langvannet
The bathing area has been built pier and sandy beach. There are public toilets, including one disabled toilet. It is located some benches with tables in the swimming area. Adjacent to the swimming area is landscaped parking area.

Vangen badeplass, Langvannet:
The bathing area has sandy beach and large lawn area. There are public toilets, including one disabled toilet. It is built barbecue area and it is located some benches with tables in the swimming area. The swimming area has a floating dock. It is not built parking in connection with the swimming area.

Vesletjern
The bathing area has been upgraded in recent years and now has larger grass area, pier and seating. It has also been planted several new groups with vegetation consisting of trees.

Mønevann

Åmotdammen
toilet, fishing pier, handicapped  700 m from Sandbekken school – in cooperation with Rælingen.

Hvalstrand beach

Hvalstrand Bad  has a nice sandy beach and grassy area. Rewarded Blue Flag in 2019.

Hvalstrand has a large fine sandy beach with a large green area. Large beautiful plunge tower and bathing raft. Toilet facilities and kiosk. Rental of rowing boats.

The former funk-style bathing facility dates from 1934. The facility was renovated in 2004 and now houses the Sult restaurant.

Access: Drive towards Asker, Nesbru, drive towards Slemmestadveien until you see signs for Hvalstrand Bad. Large nice parking space at the swimming area, paid parking. Public transport; bus destined to Vettre and Slemmestad from Sandvika.

Sanngrund bathing area and other activities

Welcome to the playground at Sanngrund! Here you will find a jumping pillow, a play tower with a slide, table tennis, swings, and toy cars.

In the summer, you are welcome to the beach. A cozy, small sandy beach with a slide and a trampoline out on the water. You will find a nice sand volleyball court right by the water and the beach. Here, both young and old can enjoy sunny days with swimming and play.

In the cafeteria and at the campsite, we offer rental of pedal boats, canoes, and kayaks. Whether you are an avid fisherman looking to try your luck, or you just want to relax and enjoy a sunny day on the water, we have something for you. Also, try the quiz trail (best suited for the little ones) or borrow a frisbee at the reception. After playing and swimming, you can enjoy an ice cream on our spacious outdoor seating area.

Places for swimming in Oppegård municipality

Ingierstrand

Ingierstrand bad is a recreation area by the Bunnefjorden. The sandy beach faces west with large grasslands and rocky outcrops. Paved walkways and stairs make it easy to walk around the entire area if desired, but the area is very hilly with both rocky outcrops and the beach. It's hard not to spot the diving tower. You can get here by car or bus. Two large car parks, kiosk and restaurant, toilet, wheelchair ramp and shower should not deter anyone from finding their way here.

Ingierstrand Bad is one of the inner Oslofjord's most visited bathing spots. There are several diving boards and a sandy beach here. The swimming pool is owned and operated by Oslo Municipality.

Bestemorstranda  (Grandma beach)

Oppegård has, among other things, Bestemorstranda, a simple, small swimming area with sandy beach, small grassy area, urinal, toilet and boulders. Follow Mosseveien south, follow the signs for Ingierstrand. Follow Ingierstrandveien until you see a sign with "Bestemorstranda". Open to grandmothers – and everyone else.

The beach owned and operated by Oslo Municipality.

Bekkensten

Here is a coarse-grained sand and stone beach with grass and rocky outcrops. Playing and splashing in the stream is not recommended due to bacteria. The beach is owned and operated by Oslo Municipality.

The swimming pool Bekkensten has a sand and stone beach, rocky cliffs and toilet facilities.

Midtsjøvannet

The bathing area has a shallow and child-friendly sandy beach with benches. There is also a toilet here. Midtsjøvann was protected as a nature reserve in 1992. If you want to fish, you must have a fishing license. Midtsjøvann is managed by Nordre Follo municipality. There is both a car park and a bus stop close by. The nearest bus stop is Midtsjø (routes 520 and 515).

You can find Midtsjøvannet approximately three kilometers from the center of Ski in the direction of Enebakk.

Gjedsjøvannet

Gjedsjøvannet lies past Midsjø in the direction of Enebakk. After driving past the old school, you will see the water on your left. Here you will find parking. Nice to swim from the rocks on the eastern side of the lake.

Gjersenga

Gjersenga is a nice bathing area with a sandy beach, toilets and jetty as well as a large and nice green area with tables and benches. Gjersenga is managed by Nordre Follo municipality. There is both a car park and a bus stop nearby. The nearest bus stop is called Gjersenga (route 520).

Gjersenga is located on the west side of Langen. The exit is in a hilly bend on national highway 154 between Ski and Enebakk, and comes on a bit abruptly. Drive carefully.

Vientjern

Twenty minutes' walk from the shooting range in Kråkstad, Vientjern is located in peaceful surroundings. Bathers can use the rock and toilets, jump from the diving board and splash out to the floating jetty. There is a cycle path all the way to the water.

Here you can combine forest walks and swimming. On the north side is a floating jetty, picnic area and fine rocky outcrops. The area has several hiking trails. Vientjern is managed by Nordre Follo municipality.

Tussetjern

Tussetjern is an idyllic body of water. The pond is accessible from both the Langhus and Oppegård sides. On the Langhus side, a new bathing jetty was established in 2021.

The swimming area has a small strip of sand, rocks and grass. It is municipal, and samples are taken of the water during the bathing season. If the tests show that it is not good to swim here, we put up signs and inform on our channels.

The site has a car park with HC spaces and bicycle parking. Here there are also seating areas with space for wheelchair users and a toilet building accessible to the disabled. You can get here by train and bus. Tjernet is located east of county road 156. The nearest bus stop, Stenfeltlia, is approximately 250 meters away.

Bråtetjern

Here there is a lot of green space, a diving board and a large gap hook with a picnic area. The area is suitable for fishing, camping and general outdoor activities. Bråtetjern is managed by Nordre Follo municipality.
Right by the bathing area, there is a bus stop called Saga. Route 515 stops there.

Strandskogen

Swimming beach at Svartskog owned by Oslo municipality. In 2011, the beach was converted from a naturist beach to a textile beach. The beach is signposted with information about this.

Kloppa (Assur)

At Kloppa, you will find a large lawn area with benches and tables for 40 people, gapahuk and floating jetty. There is no toilet here. Kloppa is managed by Nordre Follo municipal forests.

General advice for visitors to the bathing areas

Show consideration for birds and animals, especially during the breeding season.

Respect the dog leash that applies from 1 April to 20 August.

Nature is vulnerable – do not destroy trees and bushes with knives, nails, steel wire or other things that damage the trees.

Never leave litter on the beaches or in nature. Take your trash home with you if you can't throw it in a trash can.

From 15 April to 15 September, it is forbidden to make fires in forests and fields.

Hvitsten badeplass

Hvitsten Beach is located in the center of Hvitsten. The area has a sandy beach, grass, a small pier, benches, and a small café that is open on weekends during the summer. There are good parking facilities before you reach the square.
