Beaches in Asker

In Asker and Bærum there are 5 beaches which in 2019 received the Blue Flag award. The community has sucessfully developed good bathing areas, nice facilities with clean and good water. 4 of the beaches in Asker received these awards.
Hestesund, Nesøya

A small sandy beach with swimming raft and diving board. The beach is mostly used by locals. Poor parking

Hvam Odden, Nesøya. BLUE FLAG

Hvam Odden is a sandy beach at the tip of Nesøya in Asker. It has large grass area with play equipment and sandpit for children, benches and tables. Rough rocks with opportunity for fishing outside.

Holmeskjæret, Holmen. BLUE FLAG

Holmeskjæret is a wonderful child-friendly area with large grass area, sand beach and swim raft. Powered by Asker Municipality.

Mini golf course. You can hire bats and golf clubs in the kiosk for a small deposit, and there are two volleyball courts. Toilet facillity with water and outdoor shower. Situated next to the beach you find Holmen Swimming Pool with a 25 m pool and a heated pool.

Kariskjær, Leangbukta

Kariskjær swimming area is locat in Leaedngbukta, opposite Hvalstrand Bad. Several small bays / bathing areas with sand and gravel and rocks.

Spirebukta, Konglungen

Spirebukta is a natural beach. The bathing area is east facing and has good access to sunshine and fresh seawater from the fjord.

Blakstad, Blakstad

Blakstad swimming area located at Blakstad hospital. Nice grassy slope down to a north-facing cove with pebbles.

Hvalstrand Bad, Hvalstrand. BLUE FLAG

Hvalstrand Bad has a large fine sandy beach with large green area. A diving platform and  a swim raft. Toilet facilities and a kiosk. Rowing boats for rent.

The former seaside resort in the functionalist style is from 1934. The facility is renovated in 2004 and now houses a restaurant Sult.

Vollen, Fritzner 

The beach in Vollen is a 40 feet wide sandbeach. Ther is a kiosk and a cafe at the culture center just south of the beach.

You can find Café and restaurants in Vollen center and Marina. Jetski/Water Jet rental at the Marina.

Swimming raft with diving boards (1.2m), Privy and Barbecue facilities.

Vollen swimming area was awarded the Blue Flag in 2008.

Sjøstrand Bad, Vollen. BLUE FLAG

Sjøstrand Bad consists of two beautiful sandy beaches, a pier and a large grass area.Sjøstrand has volleyball courts, a kiosk, a diving board and a kiosk.

Risenga Swimming Pool

Risenga swimming pool is an exciting water park in central Asker with slides, wave pool, children's pool, hot water pool, plunge tower, climbing wall and much more. This is a popular place for birthday celebrations.

Birthday in Risenga swimming pool is incredibly popular! You order, we cover the table and serve!

With us you can have a birthday celebration Monday – Friday from 15.00 – 20.00. You decide for yourself when you want to start the celebration within this time, and we estimate approx. 2.5 to 3 hours for the celebration. Read more about birthday celebrations here.

The Well Spa

The largest spa in the Nordic region
The Well is the largest and most extensive spa in the Nordic region, and with us you can experience bathing traditions from all over the world. Here you will find 11 different pools, cold pool, 15 different saunas and steam baths, more than 100 showers, treatment department, Japanese bathhouse with onsen, Hamam and Rhassoul, in addition to many exciting sauna and aufguss rituals. The large outdoor area has pools, jacuzzi, sun loungers, cabanas, Pool Side Bar and a unique Sculpture Trail.

The Well is built on continental bathing traditions. You choose whether you want to bathe with or without swimwear, in saunas and steam baths where swimwear is not allowed you can cover yourself with a peshtemal or towel. In all common areas, you are covered with a bathrobe.

Outdoor area
The outdoor areas at The Well are a year-round oasis, with several pools, jacuzzis, a forest sauna and a sculpture trail.
In autumn and winter, the forest sauna gives you a warm, comfortable break before taking a refreshing dip in the large outdoor pool. In addition, it is a unique experience to relax in the warm outdoor Warm Pool while the cold winter air meets your face.
In summer and spring, you can enjoy over 200 sun loungers, cabanas, outdoor showers and a Poolside Bar, all surrounded by lush nature and well-kept gardens – the perfect setting for a relaxing day.

Holmenskjæret beach

Holmenskjæret is a nice child-friendly area with a large grassy beach, sandy beach and a bathing raft.

The sandy beach is nice, with some small rocks here and there. Own bathing stairs in concrete on the rocky mountain. The beach was honored with Blue Flag in 2019. Operated by Asker municipality.

There are two volleyball courts at your disposal. Nice toilet facilities with water and outside shower. Holmenskjæret is next to Holmen Swimming Pool with a wonderful 25 m pool and therapy pool.

Access: Drive towards Asker, Nesbru, turn off towards Holmen.Handicap parking down the beach. Parking.
 

Sauna – Iglucrafts Iglusauna by Konglehytta

The unique and beautiful Iglucraft sauna is simple and charming. It accommodates 4 people and the oval shape gives you a great feeling. Through the window you look out to lake Mjøsa. 

Combine it with a stay in the nice Konglehytta 1, 2 or 3 located a 1 hour drive from Oslo and 30 minutes from Gardermoen International airport. Enjoy the great view over Lake Mjøsa, cooking in the well equipped kitchen or simply relax in front of the wooden stove.

Relax in Konglehytta and enjoy the sauna, fire stove or well equipped kitchen. If you want some activity you can use the various walking paths in the woods, ride a mountain bike or go fishing.

Places to swim in Aurskog-Høland

We have  many bathing places in our municipality.

The most popular are Røytjenn at Bjørkelangen, Halsnes friluftssenter and Damtjern at Momoen.

f you prefer to swim indoors, we have a great swimming facility, Bjørkebadet, with a 25-metre swimming pool, therapy pool, paddling pool for the little ones, whirlpool, cold pool, steam sauna and dry sauna.

Hvamodden beach – Blue Flag

Hvamodden, Nesøya – Great sandy beach. BLUE FLAG

Hvamodden is a great little sandy beach at the very edge of Nesøya in Asker. It has large grassy area with play equipment and sandpit for the children, benches and tables. Rugged beakers with the possibility of fishing at the extreme.

Access: Drive to Nesøya, Follow Vestre vei to number 100. 24 hour paid parking every day by the beach.

Hogstadvannet lake

Hogstadvannet lake has been used for many activities in both summer and winter. Previously, blocks of ice were cut here. The ice was transported to the dairy’s ice bins in Asker. You can swim here in the summer, and skate on the lake in the winter.
