Oslonature. Guided hiking tours

Experience the area through the eyes of a local and join a journey of discovery among the hidden treasures the local environment has to offer. The tours are designed for smaller groups and offer a personal and authentic experience. DURATION: 2,5 hours

MEETINGPOINT: Kolbotn Train station. You can buy the ticket for the train at #Ruter app, at Narvesen, 7-Eleven, Deli de Luca, Mix or at the station.

LEVEL: Easy/beginner hike. We take breaks whenever we need to. Normal physical condition is required. Remember good shoes.

Hagahogget

Difficulty: Medium/demanding. There is some climbing on the last part up towards Hagahogget.

Length: Approx. 7.1 km round trip.

Starting point/parking: By bus from Asker station, bus number 275, get off at Vøyen. Approximately 200 meters from the starting point. If you come by car, there is off-road parking at the starting point for the tour. You can look up the address Semsveien 139.

HIKE DESCRIPTION:

From the parking lot, our tour proposal starts on a well-marked gravel road towards Bergsåstoppen/Sandungen at Sem grendehus. The road has a slight climb all the way to a well-marked hiking trail. Continue on the blue-marked trail in slightly hilly terrain over Semskollen. You will then come to the first crossroads where you turn right and follow the signs to Bergsåsen.You will come to a crossroads where there is a sign for Hagahogget on the right, there you follow the signs for Hagahogget. It is mostly easy to follow the blue marked path. The path has varying degrees of incline all the way to the goal of the trip.

At Hagahogget you should take time to rest. Hagahogget is 415 meters above sea level. Here you will be able to enjoy beautiful views of Skaugumåsen to the north, and behind there eastern parts of Oslo. To the south you can see Håøya. And not least you will see a beautiful view of Asker and Semsvannet.

The return is the same way back to the starting point.

Vanakleiva

Vanakleiva Parking at Hvalstjern swimming area.

The length of the trip is approx. 6.5 km. The trip starts at the parking lot. Follow the road further after the barrier and past the bathing area. Right after the guard cabin of Norwegian People's Aid Fetsund, there is a path on the right. Follow this path until you come to a crossroads. Then keep to the right (sign Hvalsetra) and follow the forest road a short distance. When the road and style divide, keep to the right on the path and follow it straight ahead at the next junction (here you are not going towards Hvalsetra which then goes to the right).
When the path ends in a new forest road, turn left about 150-200 m and you will see a path to the right. There is a small and slightly indistinct sign with Vanakleiva on it. Follow this path keep to the right. At the next junction, keep left and continue on this path to the next junction where you also turn left. Furthermore, you will come across a small cliff and eventually you will follow the path to the right, marked with a sign for Vanakleiva. Follow this path until you reach a blue mailbox at a vantage point, this is the destination. There are benches here, so that the packed lunch can be enjoyed with a nice view.
The return trip goes a bit on the same path as you came. At a small crossroads, follow the path to the right in the direction of Abbortjern. You walk along Abbortjern until you reach the end of the dam, continue the road straight ahead and at the first junction turn left. Just follow the marked path until you come to a tractor road. Turn left there and follow this road straight ahead to Hvalstjern badeblass.

Marifjell and Nordåsen

Marifjell / Nordåsen known for brilliant ski slopes and a long ski season!

In recent years, there has been up to two meters of snow on top and skiing all the way out in the month of May.

This trip is naturally most suitable for cross-country skiing, but if you want to go your own way to the top, both top skiing, mountain skiing and snowshoeing are a good alternative. At the top there is a small lookout tower with a wide view of Romerike and Hadelandsåsen, as well as a cabin you can seek refuge in on cold and windy days.

Parking area at Nordåsen Ski Stadium in Nannestad Municipality. Take the E6 to Jessheim (exit 50 or 51), and take the E16 towards Gardermoen and Hønefoss. Take the E16 towards Maura at Åmålkrysset. Drive through Maura and straight ahead at the next roundabout. Turn left right after Esso. Follow Holkebyvegen upwards 1.5 km, to a roundabout (turning point for the bus). From here you drive about 5 km along the forest road past a barrier (tolled) and past Nordåsen ski stadium, up to the large ski car park.

Skreikampen – in winter time

Skreikampen

Eidsvoll Municipality's peak (698 masl) is also the highest peak along Lake Mjøsa and offers magnificent views towards Hedemarken (Innlander), where you can see all the way to the mountains around Lillehammer, Østerdalen and Trysil. The top is also a favorite hiking destination in winter, with a cross-country ski trail all the way to the top in open and nice mountain forest.

The trip is well suited for cross-country skiing (when the trail is run up, check Feiring IL or the Ski Association's trail updates), mountain skiing, top touring skiing, snowshoeing and on foot if the summer trail from Øverbygda has been completed.

Our starting point, Øverbygda, is located in the far north of Feiring and in Eidsvoll municipality. Plot Øverbygda on the map, or follow the route description: Drive north on the E6 to the exit before Minnesund. Turn left at the first roundabout, onto Feiringvegen (Fv33) and over the bridge that crosses the E6. Drive straight ahead at the next two roundabouts and continue on Feiringvegen. Drive on Feiringvegen for 18.8 km. Then take Stubberudvegen, exit on the left side of the road. Here is the sign for Skreikampen. From the exit it is approx. 3.5 kilometers on gravel road (first Stubberudvegen, then Øverbygdvegen) to the car park on Øverbygdvegen.

We would encourage all our participants to pay attention to those who live in the area, both in terms of driving and parking.

From Øverbygda there are two alternative routes to the top, depending on the means of transport, but you can also find your own way through the forest if you wish, with a map / compass or a map app on your mobile (eg Bratt or Varsom regobs).

Route 1: cross-country skiing

The second option follows the cross-country ski trail that runs to the top of Feiring IL when there is enough snow. The trail follows up the forest road towards Skomakartjennet and turns off towards Skreikampen at St. Paulsgruve. The trail is scooter-driven and is best suited for classic skiing and skiing with short and long traps. To check the status of the trail, you can check the Ski Association's website or the mobile app iMarka.

Route 2: on foot / snowshoes

The shortest alternative follows the summer trail up through the forest, where there is often a path even in winter. This can be a good alternative for snowshoeing, on foot (if the trail is closed) or skis with long traps (randoneeski, telemarkski, mountain skis). The hiking trail departs from Øverbygdveien and is marked with both Ti on top signs and signs for Skreikampen.

The forest path is clearly marked in blue. In addition, there are signs in some places. Note that, after approx. 1 km, the sign is an alternative route to the top. This is signposted as «Skreikampen via Haralè". This route is about 1.5 km longer, and it is very steep and somewhat rough at the end, before the top. This is unsuitable winter time.

Tip: If you go with randoneeski / telemarkski it can also be fun with a detour to Langtjennåsen, where you can get 100 meters of fun skiing towards Holmtjennet

Hike to Eriksvannet

STARTING PLACE/ PARKING: By bus number 550, to the Brokkenhus bus stop. From here it is a 2.2 km walk to Sandbakken sports club. By car, park at the Sandbakken parking lot. From here it is about a 500 meter walk to Sandbakken Sports club.

TRIP DESCRIPTION: The tour starts at Sandbakken sports club. This is open for serving various homemade treats a few days a week. More information about the menu and opening hours can be found on their website.

Follow the road east from the yard. After about 400 meters, there is a blue-marked path sharply to the left.

The path goes past Griseputt, to the sign for Eriksvann. When you reach the water, follow the path that goes on the right side of the water. And then continue on the blue-marked path. The tour has some marshy areas, but there are boulders that you can step on.

At Nordre Svanefoss, you cross a bridge to the left. Here you can see the dam work carried out by beavers. The trail continues north and you will find markings towards Sandbakken. The last part of the hike goes over an open ridge down towards Fjøsmosen and Sandbakken.

The hike is in Østmarka National Park. It is important that you drive carefully in a way that takes into account the vegetation, wildlife and cultural monuments.

SculptureRoute at Wergelandshaugen

Every visit to the Wergelandshaugen Art Center should include a walk in the ravine landscape and experience the sculpture park with the historic garden.

The sculptures appear as moments of surprise placed in the scenic surroundings of the ravine landscape.

The historic garden has been restored to the 1920s, according to photographs and with period plants.

Among the artists you will experience in the park are Jim Darbu, Nils Martin, Annicken Thrane-Steen and Ole Fredrik Hvidsten.

Jim Darbu "Sunset", 2022 "For a long time I have been drawing figures with more arms and legs than is usual for a human, I guess you could say that I have found inspiration from the world of insects. Like a thunder devil lying on its back on a late summer's day I have made a creature that lies on its back and gropes for its existence.

"Jim Darbu "Into thin air", 2022 For many years I have dealt with figures that melt or disintegrate in various ways. The sculpture that is now on display in the ravine forest is also part of this theme. The idea has been to create a being that dissolves in many ways, but cancels the force of gravity, and rather disappears into the clouds rather than falling to the ground.

Nils Martin "BACKFOOT BOYS", 2022 "Backfoot Boys" shows two Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle-like figures who have taken up residence in, for example, Bigfoot's left behind shoes. The title "Backfoot Boys" alludes to the fact that they are either on their heels and taking it cool or that they are behind, lagging behind.

Annicken Thrane-Steen "On forgiveness", 2018 On forgiveness is an old term for forgiveness, regret or apology as one would say today. The term also means pray, fine, fine, pay and expiate.

The historical word points to the Tingkirken where the Eidsivatinget was located in the Middle Ages.

Ole Fredrik Hvidsten "Håndlangeren's daughter", 2022 "One hand spreads over another and stops the movements that have begun.

If you walk the Pilgrim path past Eidsvoll Church, you’ll find Wergelandshaugen down the sunken lane.
