Sjøholmen Cultural Centre – A Creative Escape by the Sea in Sandvika

Sjøholmen Cultural Centre is a vibrant hub for the arts, located in a historic 1890s villa by the seaside in Sandvika, Bærum. The house is filled with activities for both children and adults, offering a wide range of art and cultural experiences in inspiring surroundings.

Sanseloftet – A Magical Art Experience for Children.

In the attic, you’ll find the unique Sanseloftet, a 400 m² sensory art installation with nine themed rooms. Here, children can explore art through play and all their senses.

Every Sunday between 12:00 and 13:00, the Princess of the Pacifiers welcomes children in the tower room, where they can give away their pacifier and receive a diploma for courage and magic.

Creative Workshops and Birthday Celebrations.

On weekends, we host creative workshops for children, with changing themes such as painting, clay modelling, and seasonal activities. Sjøholmen also offers birthday packages with art workshops, treasure hunts, and playtime in Sanseloftet.

Sanseloftet and the creative workshop are open on weekends from 11:00 to 16:00.

Galleri Sjøholmen.

The cultural house hosts rotating art exhibitions in its historic rooms – once home to artists like Tidemand & Gude and Werenskiold. The gallery is a popular venue for both emerging and established artists.

Sjøholmen Café.

On the ground floor, you'll find a cozy café serving a varied lunch menu, drinks, and baked goods. Every Thursday, guests can enjoy Afternoon Tea. The café also serves as a charming venue for private events.

Artist Studios.

On the second floor, several artists work in their studios. Some offer their artwork for sale or take custom orders. A few times a year, we host open studio events where visitors can meet the artists and see their creative process up close.

Outdoor Experiences.

Surrounding the house, you'll find an art park and a beautiful coastal trail for walks by the sea.

Sjøholmen is also home to an underwater sculpture park with 12 sculptures installed beneath the surface – a magical experience for snorkelers and divers.

We love festivities! Kulturhuset is suitable for most events and celebrations. Whether it's a birthday, wedding, christening, naming, confirmation, anniversary or memorial. The house has both light and modern, classic and spacious, youthful and flexible banqueting rooms.
When renting our premises, you as a tenant are free to use your own food supplier and drinks can be brought in most premises. Some of the banqueting rooms are connected to functional kitchens that make serving easy.
All rooms are technically well equipped and have wireless internet access. The house is well adapted for the disabled.

Rental of Scenes
We organize good cultural experiences! Asker Kulturhus houses three scenes and an outdoor scene. All scenes are well equipped technically and our technicians are very experienced.
The theater hall has an audience capacity of 369 people and is our largest hall. It has solid amphitheater and great stage.
The multisalen has an audience capacity of 236 people in amphitheater, 300 standing or approx. 100 in cafe layout. This is a flexible hall where you can choose from many different audience setups.
The radar scene has the capacity of 150 people standing and is a small blackbox scene.
The outdoor scene is a small stage with a roof and simple technique in front of the cultural center towards the baking loop.

We tailor your event.
We have airy vestibules, large and small meeting rooms, conference and concert halls. The house is suitable for all types of corporate events. No event is too small – or too big.
Use us as an event partner or combine your conference with Asker Kulturhus's regular artistic program.
Large vestibule areas adjacent to the halls make dining easy and efficient. Wireless network and projector in all rooms are included in the price. The house is well adapted for the disabled. Contact us for an informal chat and a tour of the premises.

The possibilities are many here. We are flexible in seeing solutions in the use and combination of premises and outdoor areas.

Drøbak Aquarium offers meeting room rentals that go beyond the ordinary.

Located at Sjøtorget in Drøbak, with beautiful views over the Oslofjord, the marina, our three mermaids, and Neptune himself watching over us.

When you rent our facilities, free entry to Drøbak Aquarium is included for all participating guests during the aquarium’s regular opening hours.

The facilities consist of two rooms that can be rented together or (on weekdays*) separately, divided by a soundproof partition if needed.

Our small meeting room “The Mermaids” has a maximum capacity of 20 people (14 seated around a single meeting table).

Our medium meeting room “Neptune” has a maximum capacity of 25 people (18 seated around a single meeting table).

Our largest meeting room “The Ferry Office” has a maximum capacity of 48 people (32 seated around a single meeting table).

The rooms include a small cloakroom, restroom, and a kitchenette with cups/glasses, plates, and cutlery for 40+ people.

All facilities are wheelchair accessible.

The Eidsvoll 1814 Manor – meetings and conference

We offer a variety of venues for conferences, courses, and meetings. Eidsvoll 1814 provides meeting rooms, catering from our Café Standpunkt, and unique experiences that can add a pleasant break to your meeting day. We are happy to tailor a package to suit your specific needs.

Free parking is available on site, and we are conveniently located near key transport hubs, with easy access to trains, the airport, and the E6 motorway.

The Auditorium, part of Wergeland’s House, is a spacious and well-equipped meeting venue featuring modern projectors, sound systems, and microphones. The room includes a lectern and a stage at the front, making it ideal for presentations, panel discussions, performances, and more.

The auditorium is co-located with Café Standpunkt, the museum shop, and our Democracy Centre, offering flexibility and ease when hosting both large and small gatherings.

Capacity: up to 100 people in theatre-style seating, or 72 people with small tables for dining and working meetings.

The Conservator’s Residence is located in the heart of the beautiful park and is well suited for smaller, yet important meetings. The venue is equipped with a large screen, Wi-Fi, and two smaller rooms for breakout or group work if needed.

Trugstad Farm – conference facilities

Welcome back to Trugstad Gård – we are finally open again – newly renovated and intimate atmosphere!

Courses and conferences: only 10 minutes from Gardermoen and 40 minutes from Oslo, Trugstad Gård is ideal for courses and conferences.

In idyllic and rural surroundings, the good conversation is well facilitated and provides a unique opportunity for professional discussions, social gatherings and activities in sheltered and quiet surroundings. We accept both small and large groups, up to 50 people.

Wergelandshaugen – meetings

Meetings at Wergelandshaugen! 

Only 35 minutes by train from the center of Oslo, 10 minutes from Oslo Airport Gardermoen – you will find the lovely Wergelandshaugen.

This is a unique place to gather the management team or create an unforgettable meeting between colleagues. The surroundings create calm and creativity, gathered around exquisite architecture and stately details.

Wergelandshaugen has different rooms that can be adapted to different occasions. Among other things, the Spisestuen can accommodate 18 people in a board table layout, in the Kunstlåven there are options for both unboards, long tables and classic layouts with rectangular meeting tables. In the stable wing you will find good solutions for video conferences, as a projector, screen, camera and microphones have been installed for this purpose.

Cafe Amalies Have, serves delicious break food and home-made lunch. In the evening, Havestuen can be set up for a dignified dinner.

The beautiful, English garden with sculpture park can be used during breaks and when needed to relax. There you can see and smell the plants and flowers from ancient times, back to the Middle Ages. The historic garden has been painstakingly restored to the 1920s, according to photographs and with contemporary plants.

Unity Arena

Unity Arena has a capacity of 25,000 spectators for concerts and 15,000 for sports, and 18,500 for conferences (cinema setup). The arena is tailored to the organizer's needs, in terms of stage location, rigging and other solutions.

Unity Arena is the main arena when the biggest international artists visit Norway, and has been visited by, among others, The Rolling Stones, Justin Bieber, Rihanna, Beyoncé, Pink, Metallica, Lady GaGa, Foo Fighters, Adele, Bruce Springsteen, Roger Waters.

Shuttle buses can easily be set up from Oslo City Center or Lysaker Station in connection with events.
