Welcome to Romerike
Romerike is a green and lush region close to Oslo. Here you can visit the Eidsvoll Building where Norway's independence from Denmark was declared.

Romerike is a district located less then 20 minutes by car northeast of Oslo. It lies in the county of Akershus, and consists of the following municipalities:

Romerike has developed tremendously during the 10 last year’s. In 1998 Norway’s main airport was moved to the region. The hotel capacity has increased over the years and Norway Trade Fair has moved to Romerike as well.

Romerike has developed into a natural meeting place, and is a central region when visiting or organizing conferences, exhibitions, fairs and events.

Romerike offers more. You can find quite lakes with trout, museums loaded with information and attractions, exciting cultural history, the founding of the Norwegian Constitution, steam train, the world’s oldest steamboat, Skibladner. Let locals fascinate you with live story telling. Or you can dig for treasures – and bring home your own emerald! There are many well organized attractions in Romerike. You will be pleased with the variety, quality and magnitude. Everybody can find something to see or do.
