Biking along Vorma

Welcome to Vormtråkk – an unforgettable journey through nature, culture, and history. This unique trail follows an old railway line and crosses the impressive, heritage-protected Minne Bridge from 1880. Here, industrial history has been brought back to life as a modern path for exploration, thanks to the efforts of Bane NOR, Eidsvoll Municipality, and dedicated local enthusiasts.

Vormtråkk is much more than a walking path. It’s 8–9 kilometers of pure joy in easy and accessible terrain – ideal for walkers, joggers, cyclists, families with strollers, roller skiers, and wheelchair users. Enjoy a picturesque route along the Vorma River and onward to Lake Mjøsa, surrounded by beautiful views and peaceful nature.

The trail begins at Eidsvoll Station, just a short walk from Eidsvoll town center, and takes you all the way to Minnesund. Here, it connects with the Mjøstråkk trail, which continues north to Hamar. It's perfect for a day trip: cycle up to Hamar and take the train back, or continue your adventure by cycling back along the other side of the lake.

Ready for an outdoor experience you won't forget? Vormtråkk is waiting for you.

Enjoy your trip!

It is quite flat on nice hiking trails. Small ponds constantly appear, you are passing one or two farmyards, and it is lovely and calm.

Passing Hauerseter there is asphalt for a few kilometres and a divided road, but with little traffic. The gravel roads soon continue again and please look for blueberries and raspberries on the roadside. A special experience is bicycling through the fields on the raised gravel road at Nordbymoen.

6. Biycle tour on Romerike, starting from Best Western Plus Oslo Airport

The hotels around Gardermoen are a good starting point for bicycling in Nannestad. This easy round trip begins by bicycling past the airport before heading west on pedestrian- and bicycle paths. When you approach the center of Nannestad – which is called Teigebyen – the bicycle path ends, but it is nice to bicycle into the residential area and eventually on the pedestrian path. You will find cafes and restaurants in Teigebyen and the Nannestad village museum may be worth a visit.

The return journey goes through open agricultural landscape with farms on all sides. A part with some hills but on nice dirt roads. At Nannestadveien there will be 1.5 km with a bit of traffic, before you get back on the pedestrian- and bicycle path.

Towards the end of the tour, it is recommended to park the bicycle by the hiking trail just south of the airport and walk into the ravine landscape. This is a hiking trail that gradually descends all the way to the quiet river Sogna at the bottom of the valley. There are several rest areas on the trip and there is also a signposted path to the war memorial. Here in the valley floor, there is a calm of its own – even though you are close to the airport and hear the airplane traffic at regular intervals.
