Rib safari around Håøya

Hiking and nature guiding Koslås

Great nature and local history on Bærum's famous peak.

Join our nature guide Bjørn on a guided tour in Nature to the Kolsås peak. Here you will have the opportunity to look at the wildlife, learn about the plants in nature and the local history. Koslåstoppen has a unique geology, as part of the Oslo Belt. Hiking starts at Stein farm. We walk on the path along the slope southward, along the mountain, until we reach the path junction that leads us up to Setertjern. In the area here we stop, to see if we can experience the world's fastest bird, the peregrine falcon, it nests in the area here. If we are lucky, we can experience when it plunges down to catch its prey in the air. Eventually we come to idyllic Setertjern, here it will also be time for a little stop,

We walk further towards northern Kolsåstopp, enjoying the view towards Bærum's works and Lommedalen. The return path takes us down the slalom slope to the main road, where we finally come down to Bærums Verk shopping center. Enjoy a nice lunch or a cup of coffee at a local restaurant and summary of the trip. The trip takes 4-5 hours.

Handelsstedet Bærums Verk has over 40 shops, galleries, artist workshops and nice restaurants.

Birdwatching and lavvo dinner in the fairy tale forest

Game-watching in the fairytale forest and dinner and bonfire at Hannes

Welcome by Hanne at Rønningen farm. We are met by Hanne who tells a little about the history of the place and the people. Each is given a baguette and a bottle of water that we take with us on the trip out into the woods. The walk lasts about 4 hours, and may be adapted to a better fit for the group. Discover untouched nature in historical surroundings, only 25 minutes from Oslo.

We move out into Hornimarka and the fairytale forest. The first stop is at Persbråten, an old farmhouse. We walk along Urdselva up Urdsdalen. The river originates from the lake Svartvann, which is located a few km further up in the valley. There are several exciting waterfalls to see along the way, these are extra beautiful after a lot of rainfall. There is a rich fauna in this area, moose and deer live here … Dwarf woodpeckers, wasps and peregrine falcons are rare birds that live in the area, and if we are lucky, we can spot these, … we recommend to have the camera at hand. Old forest, narrow valleys and steep mountain slopes are also something that meets us along the way.

Some distance up in the valley we come to several places with an exciting history. We take a detour up to Risfjellkastet, where there are tombs (piles) from the Bronze Age. From the cairns we go northeast to Risfjellet's steep descent, from here there is a magnificent view of Kolsås, Sandvika and the fjord. After a break here, we return down to the farm.

Back on the farm, the farm girl Hanne will guide you into the dining room where a wonderful meal awaits us. Bonfire talk, nice company and summary of the trip. Dinner is served n in the lavvo, in the barn or in Jaktslottet.

Practical info:

The trip is in rough terrain so shoes with a rough sole are important. Physically demanding trip. Bring a small backpack.

Other easier tour suggestions:

Tour 2. Skuibakken storytelling with hiking to the farm (approx. 2 hours) Easy trip

Tour 3. History story, burial mounds, ancient road m.m. bird safari, fairytale forest, and nature photography (approx. 3 hours)

Tour 4. Nature photo – Listening trip in the forest / bird watching (approx. 3 hours)

Access to / from Oslo in the same way as upon arrival; by minibus, taxi or regular bus to Skui and 2 km walk to the farm

Rock carvings and wildlife tour to Dælivann

The cultural landscape below Kolsåstoppen is an exciting area with traces of early settlements, rich wildlife and connections to famous painters such as Christian Skredsvig and his work "The Boy with the flute" that is displayed in the National Gallery and here we also find rare petroglyphs from the early Iron Age that are important for depicting and understanding our ship history.

At Dalbo, there are the first traces of one of the most important technological innovations in shipping in the years around the birth of Christ. The rock carvings of ships on the rock surfaces at Dalbo show the transition from ships that are paddled to ships that are rowed. This development took place sometime between 500 BC and the first centuries after Christ. The development of the rowing ship opened up to be able to build larger boats and cross over longer stretches of sea. The new technology that developed changed the cultural conditions in Norway and the Nordic countries, in the form of increased interaction, cultural influence, trade and warfare.

Dælivann is located in an area that "has the most": ancient cultural landscape, silence, burial mounds and traces of early settlements, old manor sites, carvings from the Bronze and Iron Age as well as lush farms. The area is rich in bird life, insects, flowers and trees. Here you can explore trails and a mosaic of habitats from swamps, streams and freshwater areas through rich cultural sites to varied forest environments, with exciting topography and geology including flat cultural sites, steep slopes and cliffs, where you can experience the two great peaks of Kolsås with extrodinary view over the Oslo area and the Oslo Fjord. Explore trails, nature trail with signs and popular climbing routes depending on available time and skills.

A cultural and nature trail has been created. The path is approx. 3 km that goes into the mixed forest which is part of the Skotta and Dalbo nature reserve.

And in winter time you can fish for roach, perch and pike, and there is an opportunity to go ice skating on Dælivannet.

The tour starts at the Godthaab bus stop. Arrival by own car or 30 min by bus 150 from Oslo / Lysaker. Approximately 1km to enter the cultural landscape from the bus stop, stroll around Dæhlivann (approx. 5km).

Alt 1 – Explore the nature reserve by the lake and the rock carvings. A stroll on dirt roads and trails.

Alt 2 – A hike in the nature reserve with a tour to the Kolsås Summit. A steep climb up to the top of the Kolsås. A 4 hour tour. You have to bring your lunch box and thermos.

Markaopplevelser

My name is Bjørn Eide and I own the company Markaopplevelser, which started 10 years ago and is located in Lommedalen.
Join the adventures in our grand nature; Where to find the best lakes for fishing? Where can we experience Blackcock and Tiur mating? Where does the Osprey live? These are examples of experiences I can show you. I share my local knowledge by inspiring and motivating my audience.

I emphasize safe guiding and take you through magnificent scenery.

Nature has always been a place I have lived in close contact with, ever since I was a little boy. With a mother born and raised in Krokskogen, and grandparents who had their work in there, the paths were just waiting for me to explore.
As an active cross-country skier for many years, I have crossed the forest many times. In the summer, I am an avid angler.

I have a lot of local knowledge in Bærumsmarka, Krokskogen, Nordmarka and Vestmarka. I'll be happy to guide you and your colleagues through some splendid nature experiences all year round.f

Welcome.
