Hiking to Nipkollen in Nannestad

Nipkollen is 544 meters above sea level in Nannestad municipality, at the top there is a view to the north and west. There is a blue-marked path right up to the top, it can be a bit far between the markings in some places. The first 2 km is a steady climb and you walk on a good path all the way.

To get there take the E16 towards Gardermoen and Hønefoss, take the exit towards Maura and drive through Maura and up towards Nordåsen, turn in at Rema1000 and Esso. After 1.5 km there is a roundabout (turning place for the bus), turn right at the roundabout where you will find a small car park at the top of Holkebylia. It might be a good tip to enter Kløvberget Terrasse on the GPS.

After parking, return to the roundabout and follow the road 50 m back down, the walk starts at the edge of the forest on the right. You see a sign for Nipkollen, which is in the forest next to the residential buildings there.

You won't regret the altitude gain when you reach the top, it pays off in the form of a fantastic view!

Eidsvoll 1814 – Norwegian Center for Constitution

It was here, in this house "of unreasonable size" said by the owner Carsten Anker himself, that the Eidsvoll men were gathered for 6 hectic weeks in the spring of 1814, and wrote the Norwegian constitution.

The tour starts by train from Oslo to Eidsvoll and change to Bus 430 Eidsvoll to Eidsvoll Verk. Walk up to the museum at Eidsvoll1814.

Visit and guided tour of the Eidsvoll building , which arranges various themed tours throughout the year. The museum is open all year round and the tours are suitable for both adults and children. Experience the beautiful building and the beautiful interior and art, and at the same time learn the story of 1814 – the year in which Norway left the over 400-year-long "Danish era", in which we abolished absolutism, wrote the Norwegian Constitution, elected a king, lost a war, unionized with Sweden and got our third king of the year.

In Wergelands House/ Center of Democracy for youths the  focus is on getting you involved for democracy – simply "caring". All visitors receive their personal ID chip. By using this on scanners around the exhibition, you get to create a personal democratic profile. The story of the Eidsvoll men and the Constitution is conveyed through film and narrative in the "New National Hall"; a modern hall inspired by the original National Hall.

It is also possible to eat food with flavors from 1814 in Kafe Standpunkt  and an exciting selection of cakes and lunch dishes is served too. Continue onwards to Galleri Festiviteten on the other side of the river, a short walk away. In Festiviteten's historic buildings and pleasant surroundings, you can still feel the old industrial history, while attending art exhibitions and museums. Let yourself be immersed by a wide selection of handicrafts and jewellery or enjoy the café life in pleasant and family-friendly surroundings. Stallgården was Eidsvoll Verk Manor's stable and was built in 1909. The expo consist of the country's largest private carriage collection with nostalgic tubs and beautiful carriages. Open in the summer season from May to September.

Bus back to the station or stroll about 7 km through historical surroundings back to Eidsvoll Verk.

Make a visit to Wergelandshaugen Cultural Center where there is an open sculpture park, café and they arrange events for everyone. In the venerable Sorenskriverboligen from 1921 and the contemporary architecture in Kunstlåven from 2021, you get a journey into the history of architecture. You are invited to art experiences both outside and inside, with art in production and finished works. In the café, Amalies Garden, you can enjoy delicious food in inspiring surroundings and in the Magistrate's residence a guided tour can be booked.

Return to Oslo by train, or even better – extend your stay with accommodation in the iconic WonderINN Culture Hub where there are 4 modern cabins for rent.

Hiking to Mistberget

Do you like hiking?
Mistberget is a peak in Eidsvoll municipality , located 663 meters above sea level . Although it´s only 663 meters , the view from the top is one of the finest views in the OsloRegion.
The road up is not long , about 3 km walk from the meeting point parking space at Oppsaleng – but it is recommend to wear good shoes and bring you some water – because it is a demanding hike.

Getting there: E6 past Nebbenes . Take the road 181 towards Hobart ( first exit after Nebbenes if you come from the south) . Follow Road 181 about 1 km. Turn right and follow signs to Åsleia . Drive further north and uphill about 3.5 km.

Have a nice trip!

Marifjell and Nordåsen

In recent years, there has been up to two meters of snow on top and skiing all the way out in the month of May.

This trip is naturally most suitable for cross-country skiing, but if you want to go your own way to the top, both top skiing, mountain skiing and snowshoeing are a good alternative. At the top there is a small lookout tower with a wide view of Romerike and Hadelandsåsen, as well as a cabin you can seek refuge in on cold and windy days.

To check pre-registrations, the mobile app Skisporet, possibly ‘Nannestad og Bjerke løypekjørerlag’ is recommended on Facebook.

Parking area at Nordåsen Ski Stadium in Nannestad Municipality. Take the E6 to Jessheim (exit 50 or 51), and take the E16 towards Gardermoen and Hønefoss. Take the E16 towards Maura at Åmålkrysset. Drive through Maura and straight ahead at the next roundabout. Turn left right after Esso. Follow Holkebyvegen upwards 1.5 km, to a roundabout (turning point for the bus). From here you drive about 5 km along the forest road past a barrier (tolled) and past Nordåsen ski stadium, up to the large ski car park.

From here it is well signposted with maps and several possible routes to the top.

Skreikampen – in winter time

Skreikampen

Eidsvoll Municipality's peak (698 masl) is also the highest peak along Lake Mjøsa and offers magnificent views towards Hedemarken (Innlander), where you can see all the way to the mountains around Lillehammer, Østerdalen and Trysil. The top is also a favorite hiking destination in winter, with a cross-country ski trail all the way to the top in open and nice mountain forest.

The trip is well suited for cross-country skiing (when the trail is run up, check Feiring IL or the Ski Association's trail updates), mountain skiing, top touring skiing, snowshoeing and on foot if the summer trail from Øverbygda has been completed.

Our starting point, Øverbygda, is located in the far north of Feiring and in Eidsvoll municipality. Plot Øverbygda on the map, or follow the route description: Drive north on the E6 to the exit before Minnesund. Turn left at the first roundabout, onto Feiringvegen (Fv33) and over the bridge that crosses the E6. Drive straight ahead at the next two roundabouts and continue on Feiringvegen. Drive on Feiringvegen for 18.8 km. Then take Stubberudvegen, exit on the left side of the road. Here is the sign for Skreikampen. From the exit it is approx. 3.5 kilometers on gravel road (first Stubberudvegen, then Øverbygdvegen) to the car park on Øverbygdvegen.

We would encourage all our participants to pay attention to those who live in the area, both in terms of driving and parking.

From Øverbygda there are two alternative routes to the top, depending on the means of transport, but you can also find your own way through the forest if you wish, with a map / compass or a map app on your mobile (eg Bratt or Varsom regobs).

Route 1: cross-country skiing

The second option follows the cross-country ski trail that runs to the top of Feiring IL when there is enough snow. The trail follows up the forest road towards Skomakartjennet and turns off towards Skreikampen at St. Paulsgruve. The trail is scooter-driven and is best suited for classic skiing and skiing with short and long traps. To check the status of the trail, you can check the Ski Association's website or the mobile app iMarka.

Route 2: on foot / snowshoes

The shortest alternative follows the summer trail up through the forest, where there is often a path even in winter. This can be a good alternative for snowshoeing, on foot (if the trail is closed) or skis with long traps (randoneeski, telemarkski, mountain skis). The hiking trail departs from Øverbygdveien and is marked with both Ti on top signs and signs for Skreikampen.

The forest path is clearly marked in blue. In addition, there are signs in some places. Note that, after approx. 1 km, the sign is an alternative route to the top. This is signposted as «Skreikampen via Haralè". This route is about 1.5 km longer, and it is very steep and somewhat rough at the end, before the top. This is unsuitable winter time.

Tip: If you go with randoneeski / telemarkski it can also be fun with a detour to Langtjennåsen, where you can get 100 meters of fun skiing towards Holmtjennet
