Tømmeråsen

Tømmeråsen is an easily accessible peak in Ski municipality at 313 meters above sea level and is Ski municipality's highest point. There are great views at the top. The trip takes place in varied and exciting forest terrain.

The tour starts at the Krokhol golf course, if the clubhouse on the golf course is open, this is a nice place to stop for a light snack or a cup of coffee. If you come by car, it will be possible to park here. When you start walking, follow the forest road through the golf course for 300 meters until you see a barrier on the left, and go past it. 150 meters after the barrier, follow a blue marked path to the right. Here the path will gradually rise upwards in a varied forest terrain for one kilometre. First you walk around Svarvestolen, a peak at 271 m. When you have passed a gorge here, you will come to Paddetjern, which has an idyllic rest area, where it is nice to swim in the summer. At the water's edge there is an idyllic bonfire, but remember the bonfire ban 15 April – 15 September and always check for the risk of forest fires. From Paddetjern it is 1.5 km to the viewpoint, the last kilometer will climb steeply up the ridge that makes up Tømmeråsen.

In clear weather at the top you will be able to see all the way to Gaustatoppen and Norefjell. Especially the view to the left is impressive. You will also be able to see all the way to Færder lighthouse outside Tjøme in Vestfold. (You may need to have binoculars for this). It has been arranged with benches, campfires, cairns and other things at the top so it will be possible to take a breather on the ground and enjoy the view. On the return trip on the same way back, you can look back on a great summit trip!

There are many nice paths in the area and it is also possible to arrange a round trip. When you follow the path back along the hill, you can continue the path straight ahead and pass over a bog north of Tretjerna. Just after the marsh, the path meets Høykrokholveien and you turn left and follow the hiking trail for approx. 2.5 km back to the car park.

Walk along Drøbak´s fjordside park

A short and cozy trip is a visit to the pride of the city, Badeparken.

This is the municipality's Millennium Site, concert venue, swimming area for young and old, and it contains a number of attractions.

You can choose to enter the park from the south at Båthavna or by the beautiful Drøbak Church from 1776. Inside the park, you can either stroll along a network of paths along the sea or move a bit up into the park over gently rolling terrain and through what the locals call Gamleparken (the Old Park).

If you enter from the south at Båthavna, you are greeted by the beautiful sight of blooming cherry trees.

Inside the park, you will find a play area for children, you can visit an art exhibition at Galleri Varmbadet, lie down and soak up the sun on Parrstranda in the north, or dive into the sea from the diving board "Femmer’n."

Badeparken also features a popular playground with a slide, swings, and a climbing net.

There is a beautiful Memorial Grove for those who fell from Frogn during World War II, and you can become acquainted with the bust of Colonel Eriksen, who sank the German warship Blücher on April 9, 1940.

A little below the bust lies a large anchor from the Blücher, which was retrieved from the depths where the warship sank during the dramatic and significant historical military action in 1940.

Håøya – The Pearl of the Oslo Fjord

Håøya – The Pearl of the Oslo Fjord

Right next to the fortress island Oscarsborg lies Håøya, with boat connections from Oslo and Drøbak in the summer and on weekends in spring and autumn. This is one of the Oslo Fjord's coziest islands with idyllic swimming coves, great hiking trails, designated boat spots, the café Håøya Naturverksted with its goats, and nice camping spots. A varied and idyllic island gem to visit both for a day trip or an overnight stay. Håøya boasts a very rich biodiversity, with over 550 plant species.

The southern part of the island is classified as a nature reserve with valuable old-growth forest and nesting sea eagles. Sledging in Asker og Bærum

Some great places for families with children are:

Haga Golf along Griniveien and Hagabråten on the Lijordet. In Lommedalen you meet like-minded people at the Bærum Golf Club and at the "Sukkertoppen" at the stadium in Eineåsen ski resort, while Evjebakken was voted as the roughest ground by Budstikka's readers a few years ago. Also popular are; Solli, Blakstadbakken, Dønskibakken and Føyka, which is centrally located at Asker Center with many nice cafes to warm up afterwards.  A single plastic bag provides excellent slide if you do not have a slab, mat or sledge.

Remember to have something warm to sit on, an extra pair of mittens and something warm in the thermos.

Enjoy!

Hektnerhøgåsen

Hektnerhøgåsen is a great hiking destination in Romerike. The tour starts at the football field at Espira kindergarten in Nautåsvegen.

Follow the toll road up about 300m. Here the blue trail starts on the left. Follow the path signposted Tristylen and Hektner høgåsen 2.3 km. The trip goes on blue-marked paths into Huldreheim. At the junctions, follow paths marked Hektnerhøgåsen. Check-in is downstairs at the Huldreheim cabin.

From the top, follow the blue path marked Huldreheim down to DNT's cabin Huldreheim by Ramstadsjøen. Here it is nice to have a rest and a bath.

At Huldreheim there used to be a "hunting castle", see the ruins and notice board with Huldreheim's history. Many famous cultural personalities from Kristiania fiffen have visited the place that Consul William Duborgh bought in 1893. During the war it was a holiday colony for children at Huldreheim.

From Huldreheim the path continues along Ramstadsjøen, here you follow the blue-marked path to Huldrekolonien (scout cabin) and then to Smedstad. Wide path from Huldrekolonien, follow signs to Svarttjern/Smedstad. After 2.3 km turn left on the path past Svarttjern and you will soon be down on the toll road again. Turn right down the toll road.

The trip is mostly on paths in varied forest terrain, some marshy and wet in between. There are several possibilities for alternative routes/tours.

Enjoy!

Marifjell and Nordåsen

Marifjell / Nordåsen known for brilliant ski slopes and a long ski season!

In recent years, there has been up to two meters of snow on top and skiing all the way out in the month of May.

This trip is naturally most suitable for cross-country skiing, but if you want to go your own way to the top, both top skiing, mountain skiing and snowshoeing are a good alternative. At the top there is a small lookout tower with a wide view of Romerike and Hadelandsåsen, as well as a cabin you can seek refuge in on cold and windy days.

To check pre-registrations, the mobile app Skisporet, possibly ‘Nannestad og Bjerke løypekjørerlag’ is recommended on Facebook.

Parking area at Nordåsen Ski Stadium in Nannestad Municipality. Take the E6 to Jessheim (exit 50 or 51), and take the E16 towards Gardermoen and Hønefoss. Take the E16 towards Maura at Åmålkrysset. Drive through Maura and straight ahead at the next roundabout. Turn left right after Esso. Follow Holkebyvegen upwards 1.5 km, to a roundabout (turning point for the bus). From here you drive about 5 km along the forest road past a barrier (tolled) and past Nordåsen ski stadium, up to the large ski car park.

From here it is well signposted with maps and several possible routes to the top.

Skibladner D/S

Welcome to Skibladner D/S

Skibladner has served Mjøsa since 1856 and was originally built as an extension of Norway's first railway between Christiania and Eidsvoll in 1854. Skibladner was the onward connection between Eidsvoll and Lillehammer. In recent years, Skibladner has been restored with the help of funds from the National Archives and today appears as a floating museum.

The ship was awarded the Norwegian Cultural Heritage's "Olavsrosa" quality label. The ship has a restaurant (1st place Matsalon), cafeteria (2nd place Matsalon), men's and women's salon.
For catchy happy jazz, accordion or a classical concert on deck, Skibladner is available for charter trips from the end of May to mid-September.
Just as famous as the ship itself is the traditional menu on board in the 1st place dining room, namely salmon and strawberries. This menu has long traditions on board, but it is of course possible to order other dishes. The ship can seat up to 130 people seated at tables in the various lounges. Join us on a spectacular cruise with the passage of four bridges on the way down to the constitutional city.

Would you like to combine it with a trip to Eidsvoll 1814? There is a bus service between Eidsvoll Station and Eidsvoll 1814 – check out ruter.no – bus number 430.

You can meet at the piers and buy a ticket from a ticket agent, or reserve tickets online so you are sure to get a seat. Read more on Skibladner's own website for timetables and ports. https://www.skibladner.no
