Stein School is an experience for children and parents alike. During the 1930s, the school was decorated by well-known Norwegian artists. Reidar Aulie, Dagfinn Werenskiold, Henrik Sørensen and many other artists turned the school house into an imaginative colourful environment for education.

The principal Erling Elverhøy and Ingeborg Refling Hagen was "powersource" behind the arts and words which are painted on the walls in the building. The school was in ordinary use from 1912 to 1972 and is often referred to as the "Fairy Tale School". The "old school" from 1852 is placed beside Stein School and was in use until 1912.

Other attractions in the area:
The Aulie mill, Nes Churchruins, Funnefoss Industrial Museum, the small farm at Furuseth.

Camp with Alpacas in nature

With us you can now spend the night outdoors with the alpacas – an experience you will soon forget.

We have rigged the campsite, groomed the animals, packed the backpack and are ready for accommodation with the alpacas!

We have a campsite in the woods with gapahuk, long table and outdoor toilet. Up to 10 participants can spend the night on their own with the alpacas.

You can take part in an ordinary alpaca hike, but this time we stop halfway (at the campsite) where you will stay, together with the alpacas, until the next day! At the campsite you have to hang up the hammock, arrange the accommodation, light a fire, cook and care for the animals. You bring equipment for overnight stays outside (sleeping bag, sleeping pad, clothes, plate, cutlery, etc.). We have hammocks and tarp for hire, as well as some sleeping pads.

The campsite has a fire place with wood, long table w / benches (and roof), gapahuk with room for 8-10 people, and outdoor toilet. As well as many trees to hang hammocks in, and plenty of space to pitch a tent. On site there is some simple refreshments: Sausages and burgers with simple accessories, breakfast (polar bread with various toppings) and some snacks. Water is available (in cans) on site.

If you want something else to eat or drink, or have needs in connection with allergies or the like, you must bring the desired food and drink yourself. The next day we come and pick you up, and the alpacas, back to the farm.

The alpacas will be around you all the time and you are responsible for their well-being.
