Hundsund Bath

Hundsund Bath has two pools, one of 25 x 12.5 m and one of 12.5 x 10 m. The smallest pool is 34 degrees. The large pool is 28 degrees in the water and for those who want to swim “seriously” or be active in other ways.

Hjellåstårnet

The Hjellås Tower rewards you with a fantastic view, especially to the west and south. It is located on 238 m high Hjellsåsen, where one of two map measuring towers in Gaupesteinmarka could be climbed until the 1980s. Tårnlauget in Kråkstad Idrettslag has built a 12 meter high lookout tower that was officially opened on June 10, 2017. From Hjellsåstårnet there is a great view, and in good weather you see, among other things. Norefjell, Tryvannstårnet and large parts of Follo.

The starting point is the car park at Granerud Shooting Range in Kråkstad. Follow road signs to Plots from the roundabout at Ski shopping center, past Ski small airport over the large agricultural plains in Kråkstad. After 6.5 km from the Ski center, follow the side road Vientjernveien for just over 800 meters, also signposted Granerud Skytebane, to a large car park and with a barrier on.

Good hike!

Sledging in Asker og Bærum

Some great places for families with children are:

Haga Golf along Griniveien and Hagabråten on the Lijordet. In Lommedalen you meet like-minded people at the Bærum Golf Club and at the "Sukkertoppen" at the stadium in Eineåsen ski resort, while Evjebakken was voted as the roughest ground by Budstikka's readers a few years ago. Also popular are; Solli, Blakstadbakken, Dønskibakken and Føyka, which is centrally located at Asker Center with many nice cafes to warm up afterwards.  A single plastic bag provides excellent slide if you do not have a slab, mat or sledge.

Remember to have something warm to sit on, an extra pair of mittens and something warm in the thermos.

Enjoy!

Bærum Kayak clubb have their clubhouse, “Båtsportens hus”, on the island’s north side. Several burial mounds have been discovered on Kalvøya from both the Bronze and Iron Ages. A stroll around the island is well signposted with various kinds of information.

Kadettangen is situated just before Kalvøybroa bridge on the east side. This area was previously used as a training camp for the cadet school (1869-1896), hence the name. Today, you will find football pitches here, as well as clubhouses and sports halls that are used by Bærum Sports Club. The beach area at Kadettangen is one of Bærum’s finest, with diving and swimming jetties, wheelchair ramps down to the water, sand volleyball courts, a kiosk, four permanent barbecue grills, toilets and showers. On the right side before the Kalvøybroen bridge is a cosy guest dock for visitors, and a separate quay for the Rigmor and Rigfar ferries.
