The coastal cabins at Håøya

About Håøya

Håøya is an island with great natural resources, an exciting cultural history, nice tent sites and bathing areas. It is the largest island in the Inner Oslofjord, and here you will also find the Oslofjord's highest point, which is a nice hike up Ormeleina.

The summer cafe Håøya Naturverksted is also located here and there is transport with Ruter.no from Oslo and Drøbak in the summer season.

There are three coastal huts on Håøya.

"Badstua"

The small charming Badstua is a log cabin with a dragon style, and consists of only one room with a small kitchenette, wood stove and bunk bed with room for 4. The cabin also comes with a small rowing boat. Badstua is a stone's throw away from the coastal cabins Gamlegården and Eldhuset.

Read more about Badstua here.

"Gamlegården"

Gamlegården lies 50 meters from the water's edge.

The building is the oldest on the whole island and has 16 beds. To think that parts of the building date from the 17th century gives room to wonder what life on the island was like at the time. The cabin is located right next to the coastal trail cabin Eldhuset.

Read more about Gamlegården here.

"Eldhuset"

Eldhuset is located 30 meters from the water's edge, with beds for 7. Here you can sit on the veranda and drink your morning coffee before taking a stroll to discover some of Håøya's diversity. With the boat that comes with you, you can splash around in the bay outside, or row a trip and do some beachcombing on the largest island in the Inner Oslofjord.

WonderInn Shepherd’s Hut – Boho

Welcome to Boho, our newest accommodation at WonderInn Riverside! Built as an old school Shepherds hut on wheels, the hut blends into the farm atmosphere and offers a unique and luxurious way to experience farm life.

The hut is equipped with its own luxurious copper bathtub and toilet, a kitchenette with cooking plates and a microwave, a small wood stove and a comfortable double bed. The outdoor area has a wood fire pit with cooking plates for grilling, and a cozy seating area. The cabin overlooks the fields and forests; there is a high chance to spot packs of small deer (especially if you are an early riser!)

Included in the stay is also the unique mirrored sauna at the riverside, where you can book a time to enjoy the views over the river alone with your partner – and finish the session with a refreshing swim in the river!

On the farm, we have free range chickens (who are more than happy to pay you a visit, so keep the door closed!), 3 cute Shetlands ponies and 4 funny and friendly alpacas. We have a canoe and bicycles you can borrow during your stay.
