Guided Tours at Uranienborg – Roald Amundsen’s House

Welcome to "Uranienborg" Polar Explorer Roald Amundsen's House

"Uranienborg" rests peacefully by the shores of the Oslo fjord at Svartskog, outside Oslo. This was Roald Amundsen’s home for 20 years, until he disappeared in 1928. Today you can explore mementos from his expeditions – and his private life. "Uranienborg" is a museum where Amundsen himself has gathered the collection, which gives you a unique insight to the life of one of the greatest polar explorers in history.

Roald Amundsen's House is open with guided tours on Wednesdays and a few Saturdays from the end of May to the beginning of September (see dates below). To guarantee a place on the desired tour, tickets must be purchased in advance. Larger groups can arrange for tours between May 18th and September 18th by contacting the Follo Museum at follo.museum@mia.no.
