The Oslofjord for Children
The Oslofjord Museum is located by the quay and has many activities for the children throughout the summer, building a bungee boat and test driving it is fun for both children and adults. The museum has a large wooden boat collection and changing exhibitions about life at sea. It was here that Polar explorer Roald Amundsen built his polar ship Maud. Next to the Oslofjord Museum is Selvikvillaen, a beautiful Swiss villa built in the 1880s has a café and sells ice cream. Here you can relax in the villa garden, play bowling and games or borrow a SUP, kayak or canoe.
Enjoy the beach life! – Fritzner beach awaits just outside. The beach has been awarded the “Blue Flag” and is a gem with fixed barbecues and a bocce court, and next to it along the coastal path there are several nice bathing places and a frisbee track along the coastal path. Frisbee, boules and beach toys can be borrowed/rented at the museum.
